About Nicky

NICKY is a handsome 2 year old, 10.8 Maltese who was found as a stray. He was microchipped and the registered owner was contacted, but she said he had been rehomed and that person never responded to messages from anyone. As the legal owner, she surrendered him and he came to us to find a new home with people who want him! That shouldn't be too hard! NICKY is a very sweet boy who needs someone to give him lots of love. He follows his foster mom everywhere she goes, loves attention and sometimes gives kisses. Nicky is much more comfortable around women and is skittish around men. He is warming up to his foster dad and does get excited to see him when he comes home from work. Nicky is fine with other dogs but he does not play with them. He can be in a home as an only or with another small calm dog. He still has some puppy energy and enjoys running around the backyard in brief spurts, but he does not like to be outside without his person. He hasn't tried to play with toys yet. Nicky is not leash trained and needs a home with a secure fenced yard. His foster mom is working with him on potty training and keeps him on a pretty good routine. He does need somebody to keep working with him with love and patience. At night, Nicky sleeps in the bed with his foster family. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. MORE about NICKY: He likes food and treats. He doesn't bark very often. He has not been around cats or kids since we have had him, kids will make him nervous.
