About Harper

Harper is a Miniature Schnauzer who turned 9 years old September 15, 2024. She was spayed and had 8 loose teeth removed in August 2023. I believe she was primarily used for breeding before I got her in May 2023. My son and daughter-in-law got her for me to help with my anxiety and cPTSD when going out but when I do take her with me she gets more anxious than I do. She does ok with older children but does not like being hugged or tugged on by small children. She can be reactive to unfamiliar dogs but was ok with other dogs we have had, and she mostly leaves my cats alone. She is kind of a diva and will refuse to eat if someone has to get upset at her for anything. The vet did have me give her an antibiotic after her surgery and she has had stomach troubles ever since. I feed her kibble mixed with kiefer and a bit of canned food once a day and she loves it. I need to find her another home because I just cannot take care of her needs as my own health is declining. Plus, we will be moving soon and I will not be able to keep her in our new place. She needs a yard to play and run around in and she's just not happy in the apartment setting we have found ourselves in now. She is very good as coming when her name is called. She will come with her food, beds and toys but you will need a crate or kennel for her for nighttime since she gets anxious and will pee on the floor if left alone too long or at night. If you want the kennel I have for her I will need an additional payment so I can replace it since 2 of my sons cats are bonded and we use it to transport them together when going anywhere with them.
