About Kuma

This is Kuma. Someone found him with a badly broken leg, and I brought him into the vets to get checked. When called, his former owner said to euthanize him. (The man who found him thinks the original owner did it on purpose, and based on the call the vet's office made to him about his microchip, I think so too.) So Kuma's back leg was amputated and he was neutered. He is up-to-date on his shots/ vaccinations, I've been keeping up with flea and heartworm meds, and he is microchipped in my name at the moment. He is a really really good dog. The only thing is he seems to get a little growly and territorial inside only with other dogs (though he does great with my other staffordshire terrier while outside), and unfortunately my cats every time he's seen them. He's incredibly sweet with people though, and has never shown any slight aggression with humans. He just wants love! I haven't tested him with my other dogs because they are very large, and can have some aggression issues, so I don't want to put anyone in a bad situation. So a no dog, and definitely no cat home would set him up for success. I am rooting for him so hard because he has been through so much, and is literally the sweetest to people. His back leg was amputated, and other than being at my house, he has never been shown love. He is well behaved overall, but does need some training with someone that isn't overwhelmed with other dogs, and I just want to find him someone who will love him for the perfect gem he is. Unfortunately, I don't have much time for him at all, so my home is not an ideal situation, but it is better than a shelter. Here are a few bullet points about him: * Super sweet. * Loves to give kisses, smile, and cuddle. * Rarely barks. * Not a chewer! * Potty-trained. * Short fur and doesn't seem to shed a lot! * Loves toys, fetch, and peanut butter. * NEVER scratches on door or whines. * Good with some other dogs while outside (He does grumble and get territorial inside, so he needs to be in a house that is cat and dog free, but NO aggression ever with people so I just pick him up). * Not phased by thunder. * Loves to run (even with missing back right leg, he does wonderful)! * Waits for me in bed at night when I go out the back door.
