Who doesn't want something 'Major' in their house? Major is a year old pure bred German Shepherd and we have the certificate to prove it. We are looking for a foster, foster to adopt or forever home for this young perfect specimen of his breed. Major does great with cats. He gets weekly baths locally here in Florida at Bark Suds. He has been boarded locally at Paws Inn Paradise and they love him there. He has been through training at Sit Means Sit in St. Petersburg. He does well on car rides and at group training. He is very active and is very treat, food, toy, and verbal praise motivated. He loves it all! Major does well in his crate during the day and throughout the night. He is up to date on vaccines and he has no health conditions. He is not neutered as it was not recommended for his breed until 18-24 months. He eats Royal Canin German Shepherd Puppy food and has been given glucosamine for his joints and fish oil supplements for his coat. Overall, Major has been well loved and taken care of. The adoption fee for this pet covers the cost of care and training which may have been for several weeks or several months depending on the health and training needs. The fee also covers all vet bills during this time to ensure his/her health is improved or maintained and provides you with assurance that this dog has been well cared for while in our possession and evaluated to meet your home's needs. Included in this fee is also life- long training support provided by PLAY! K9 Academy located in Bradenton, FL as well as Life time microchip registration. When you adopt from a local shelter, you may not receive any medical history for this dog nor will you receive any behavioral history. We hope you understand that the minimal adoption fee we are asking is to continue our mission to rescue unwanted herding and working breeds from shelters/owners and get them adopted to their forever home. PLAY! K9 Rescue will pay for the spay/neuter of this adopted dog. The spay/neuter must be done at a clinic or veterinarian's office approved by PLAY! K9 Rescue. If the adopter chooses to take the pet to their own veterinarian for the spay/neuter procedure, PLAY! K9 Rescue will refund the cost equivalent to an approved PLAY! K9 Rescue veterinarian or clinic. All of our unaltered pets have a fully refundable deposit of $150.00 included within the adoption fee. Once the pet is altered at the appropriate time and proof supplied to our rescue, the adopter will be reimbursed $150.00. Our adoption contract explains this process in detail.
