About Tonka

Tonka! Tonka earned his name because he's tough as a Tonka truck. Tonka and his sister were thrown from a moving vehicle in Texas. A good samaritan quickly went to retrieve them, but Tonka's sister was hit and killed. Tonka entered the shelter alone. He was very sore, confused, and afraid. Volunteers networked him quickly as he was placed on the euthanasia list. Luckily, we saw his plea and agreed that MHCR was the place for him. Tonka loves doggie friends and he's very playful. He's in foster where he's around a very young child and he was cautious at first, but he's adapted well. Tonka is doing well with his house training when kept on a schedule. Tonka is looking for a home with a fenced in yard and a canine companion. He's approximately 5 months old.
