Oakley is currently in a foster home. As her foster mom says, 'Meet Oakley- big ears, bigger heart, and the biggest tail wags. Oakley is an 88lb German Shepherd who's equal parts chill couch potato and adventurer. She's well-behaved but thinks walks are a race-especially if deer are involved. (Spoiler: she pulls a bit.) At home, Oakley's all about lounging unless squeaky toys or Nyla bones are in the mix. She's good with kids, is cool with cats, and handles unfamiliar dogs with polite caution. She recently served as a middle school shelter ambassador, where she connected with students and teachers in the classroom. Her visit was a big success, sparking enthusiasm and engagement from everyone involved. If you're an active family who loves hiking, exploring and daily exercise, Oakley's your girl. With her Shepherd smarts, nosy charm, and low-key stubborn streak, she's a hilarious and loyal gem waiting to join your pack!' https://clatsopcounty.animalshelternet.com/adoption_animal_details.cfm?AnimalUID=321618 Meet and greets are by appointment, so if you'd like to meet Oakley, call the shelter at 503-861-7387 or stop by the lobby to set up a time. The shelter is open 9:30 to 4:00 Tuesday through Saturday, closed 12:30 to 1:30 for lunch. You can also fill out an application here: https://www.clatsopcounty.gov/media/16441 or by going to the shelter's Adopting a Pet page at https://www.clatsopcounty.gov/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet for more information on adoption requirements and then filling out the form at the bottom of the page. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to: [email protected] or print it and deliver it directly to the shelter.
