This big dude is looking for his forever home! Unlike many of our other pigs, Pinocchio came from a home that loved him. He had been brought from a breeder as a baby with the intention of being an indoor pig, but when he got too big to fit in the home, they were able to move him into the barn they had on the property and he lived with them for a decade or so. Unfortunately, his person became too ill to take care of him, so we stepped in to make sure he would be safe. He weighs in as our biggest pig, right around 200 lbs and we suspect that he might be a potbelly pig crossed with a larger pig breed, but he's been checked out by our vet multiple times and beyond having some normal old man aches and pains, he's been given a clean bill of health and is ready to go into his forever home! While he's been with us he's bonded pretty closely with our smallest pig Simba and we would love for them to go into a home together! He is also the top pig in our herd and helps keep all the others in line! He can be a bit of a grumpy old man at times and will be a little moody as he gets to know you, but once he trusts you, he'll come up to greet you and then will follow you around, making sure you don't forget he's there for some pets. We think Pinochs would do well in a home with some pig experience since he can be a grump at times, but he would do well in a home as an indoor or outdoor pig - although he would probably need a refresher on his housebreaking since he hasn't lived inside a house in many years. Like all of our pigs, he is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting him (and maybe his buddy Simba too!), you can fill out an adoption application for him on our website, waywardranch.org!
