Bear came into the rescue when he was going to be shot by a neighbor on Thanksgiving. The neighbor's child was giving him a turkey leg. No one witnessed the incident But it ended up in a bite. While at the Rescue, bear has shown no aggression, but we also do not pull Or take away any type of chew toy or bone while he is enjoying it. Recently, Bear went out on trial. Everything was going great and the people loved him. While Bear was chewing on something (we were not informed what it was) a visitor or roommate decided to go and get into Bear's space to see what he was chewing on. This lead to a bite and Bear being returned. We were sent the photos of the bite which was on the inside of the top part of the arm above the elbow. Bear really needs a loving owner that will respect his space while eating or chewing on something and understands resource guarding. We took him in so he was not shot. He really is a nice dog. If you can give him a chance please contact us. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on rabies. No children please.
