**Adoption Description for Our Sweet Wheaten Terrier** Meet our lovable 7-year-old purebred male Wheaten Terrier! He's the perfect family companion who thrives on affection and enjoys spending quality time with his loved ones. Whether it's going for walks, playing with kids, or simply lounging side by side, he's always ready to be your snuggle buddy. This friendly pup gets a little excited and jumpy when meeting new people, but with a gentle reminder to sit and wait, he settles down. He enjoys the company of most dogs, though he can feel a bit anxious around larger, more dominant males, which may make him bark. Overall, he's not a big barker and loves to engage in playtime with his canine friends. However, after some play, he enjoys his downtime and often spends half the day playing with other dogs his size or smaller at his doggy daycare and the other half of his stay he typically spends relaxing on his own. A true family dog, he adores playing with my children and their friends and will happily lay beside you while you work from home, often keeping a gentle touch on your feet. Due to his attachment to his caregivers, he isn't accustomed to being left alone for long stretches and may experience a little nervousness, occasionally leading to small accidents. . When I need to leave him home alone, I keep him in our kitchen with wood floors for easy cleanup. He thrives on routine and is let outside 3-5 times a day while being fed twice daily, with one cup of food in the morning and one in the evening. He does best with a consistent schedule for potty breaks, outdoor play, and walks. And other than his visits to doggie daycare, he has not lived our been around dogs or any other pets in the home. He groomed once a month as he has hair and not fur that sheds (which can also be beneficial for families with allergies to dander/fur). He is also good about having his teeth brushed. It's truly heartbreaking to let him go, but I am relocating to an apartment that doesn't allow dogs. He would absolutely love a home with an enclosed backyard where he can romp and play! Although he's 7 years old, he has the spirit of a younger dog, with many people mistaking him for a puppy or young adult. He's also a fantastic car companion, enjoying rides and being an excellent traveler. Whether we're running errands or taking longer trips, like our 5-plus-hour drives to Michigan, he remains a calm presence. While he's good off-leash for very short periods of time, he can get distracted by squirrels and neighborhood dogs, so it's best to keep an eye on him and not plan to have him off leash at parks.. He's cooperative during baths and grooming, although he isn't keen on swimming in outdoor rivers and lakes-he'll dip his paws in shallow water but prefers to stay on dry land. He' has however, enjoyed boat rides on Lake Michigan with a dog life vest, and open to new experiences. If you're looking for a loving, playful addition to your family, our sweet Wheaten Terrier could be the perfect fit! He's ready to bring joy and companionship to his new forever home. We will provide all his doggie supplies, chip registration, health and medical history, including vaccinations, yearly teeth cleaning records and also his Pedigree certification papers that include his family ancestry information.
