About Sisu

Adoption Fee: $450
Boxer mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

My name is Sisu and I am looking for a forever home. I'm a female Boxer/Vizsla-mix (I think), about 6-7 months old, 30lbs. Golden-redish short hair, top is getting a bit darker brown, white underbelly that goes under her chin and on her paws. Risu is Latin for smile because I like to melt people's hearts with mine. Super quiet, rarely barks, if so, it's usually at nothing. Working at the computer, lays right by your feet. Waits outside the door while you use the wash room. ADORES her humans and very loyal! No worries about this girl running off, she is fabulous off leash! Good about getting in/out of the car, excellent on the ride and will wait patiently for a quick errand without a fuss. Very good listener always, and doesn't want to do anything naughty! If she's doing something she shouldn't, a quick/short verbal correction gets her on the right track instantly! Great in the crate! Timid with new people but warms up, still hesitant to get pet or take a treat. Figures out who is a friend pretty quickly. Great with other dogs! Have not brought her around children - I assume she just wants to play, she is curious from afar. Quiet so she is almost non-verbal. Body language, boops, and excitement. She does play nibble a bit but never rough (small kids might be a challenge). House broken, but can't hold it forever and she's quiet, so she will sneak off. Will make it through the night if you don't sleep forever. Will boop you, get in your presence and stop playing when it's potty time. She does jump, but it's straight up. Barely ricochets off you and often whiffs, very light playful touch - just excited about being outside! Haven't seen her jump greeting people or anyone she doesn't really know - it's kind of cute. She is FAST, loves to run for just the joy of it. Working on learning fetch. Cuddle bug, especially when it's cold. Will lay on top of you for pre-bed time pets and scratches, but will hop down to the floor or her bed, sometimes by your feet. If you get up to use the restroom or to start your day, you'll find her right in your spot, almost guaranteed. And if you allow her to sleep in bed with you, she loves that! Quiet all night long, curls up and doesn't take up too much room at all! Very good on a leash but she really wants to get out and run. Tugs a little when she really has to potty or her nose catches something on a walk, they kind of take over. Small correction or verbal (75% good with know her name or is just ignoring me). She will stand there staring off into space - sniffing the wind, loves to face into it to catch all the smells. Tried to teach her sit but she just does it automatically. Right after a walk she is ready to get the collar off and good hard neck scratches (she won't scratch anymore after). BELLY RUBS forever, if you have a Green Egg brush for short hair dogs + massage, she turns into a puddle. She's fun, goofy, a great companion and good all around dog. She has floppy kind of uneven ears and a smile to die for. Nothing wrong mentally or physically, she was just born with a special look. However, the tooth does make for a little sloppy eating, drops bit more food into her water, but that's about it (no special care required). She is going to make an amazing holiday addition for some lucky forever home. You put the elf on the shelf away after the season, but you'll never want to let go of Risu year-round! *Fine with cats! Risu is around 7 months old. *The adoption fee is $450.00 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, leash and collar, ProHeart 12 (adults), and the mandatory CT HB 5368 exam. BREED IDENTIFICATION: Please understand that many rescue dogs are mixes of multiple breeds. Petfinder allows us to choose up to two breeds per dog. While the shelters and our rescue do our best in accurately identifying breeds, breed identification is not guaranteed. If there is a certain breed that you do not want, it is very important that you share this with our rescue when applying. When adopting a puppy, breed uncertainty plays a big part in the size/look of the dog as an adult. Please know that any puppy can be a wonderful dog, regardless of preconceived notions of certain breeds, but it is very important that the adopter has the dedication and patience to raise the puppy with boundaries, consistency, structure, & love. The more effort you give towards training & time you allow for exercise, your puppy will grow to be a HUGE source of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, TOTAL LOYALTY, HAPPINESS, COMFORT & COMPANIONSHIP! ABOUT OUR RESCUE: We are a small rescue run by volunteers & focused on finding the right match for both our dogs & for you. If you are interested in adopting through our rescue, you first will need to complete an adoption application & be approved as a potential adopter before meeting any of our pups. No need to be intimidated by our application as it allows us to get to know you & your lifestyle. Of cours
