LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK (address: 300 Horseblock Road, Brookhaven, NY 11719) ... TRANSPORTATION TO ALMOST ANYWHERE IS AVAILABLE. BEETHOVEN - He is NOT 6 years old (HE ONLY 4-5)- and the shelter calls him Beethoven, but his real name is Jaxson. UPDATED DECEMBER 10 @ 4:10 pm - I HAVE THE BACK STORY FOR THIS SAD BOY - he was loved and cared for. Played in the backyard and played with toys and loves other dogs. His owner who cared for him, including grooming etc. died a year ago. Her shitty druggy son moved in and that is when all the dogs took a turn for the worse with neglect. But only up until a year ago, Jaxson was a happy go-lucky boy!!!! He was, after his owner died and her evil son moved in, never really outside. He ran away a week or so before animal control got involved. He was friendly on the streets. He is just simply heartbroken and needs a loving understand person to get him into their home and love him and give him the time to come back to life and security. . He was very weak when he arrived, had most of his nails grown into his foot pads, flea infested, very skinny with pressure sores/growths on all elbows and pressure points, weak hind end. He is a grumbly boy with us, but we have been going slow and letting him eat and be comfortable. We have not been walking him currently due to his injuries on arrival and hind end weakness. He does move through the kennel well and has seemed to have a bit more energy this week than last. He barely raised his head for me last week. He is getting stronger and stonger everyday. Please please somone who has a heart and knows how to heal a broken heart. This boy needs a loving family for him to come to know we humans arent all pieces of shit! 'He came in with 10 chihuahuas out of a neglect situation. He is a male intact 6 year old, he was skinny many pressure sores/growths and nails grown into his foot pads. He now when he first came in. is slowly doing a bit better and the chihuahuas he came with have been pulled by rescue. We are hoping to find a breed specific rescue to hopefully pull him and help wean him back to health in a better situation.
