KNOX is a 2 year old, 9.7 pound Miniature Poodle who was surrendered to us to find a better life. He is looking for a calm, loving home. Knox had little to no socialization before he was surrendered. He was very skittish and afraid of just about everything, but with time he has relaxed and opened up a bit. He has learned to trust his foster mom and enjoys belly rubs and petting from her, but he can still be somewhat guarded when she goes near him. He makes himself as small as he can. A quiet and happy voice works best to reassure him. He will need a very patient adopter willing to gently work with him and give him the time he needs to grow into being a pet. One thing that will definitely help Knox is a calm home with a playful dog about his size to help him feel comfortable and gain confidence. He loves to play with other dogs and toys! He is a master at cleaning out a toy box. His foster mom goes out every afternoon to pick up all the toys that he has carried outside. Knox is 90% house trained and will use a pee pad if he needs to go and can't get outside. He will occasionally have an accident. A set-back should be expected in his new home until he figures out the routine. He is not leash trained and a fenced yard is required. At night, he has come to love sleeping in the big bed with his foster family and foster fur siblings. Knox has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. MORE about KNOX: He will need to be groomed regularly and brushed so that he does not become matted. He is still nervous and unsure when new people come into his foster home and will bark at them from outside or another room.
