RIYA and TARU are 10 month old SHORTHIR ORIENTAL siblings. Riya is a female Silver Tabby with green eyes and Taru is a male Chocolate with gold/green eyes. These two kids are gorgeous! Taru has a chocolate coat, but you can see the shadow of stripes and spots underneath, and Riya has beautiful markings in light silver and dark grays. Both have been altered, up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, tested negative for fiv/felv and have their claws. They are back in rescue through no fault of their own. These two kids came from a bad situation, and get scared of strange noises and people, but they recover pretty quickly. The Oriental breed is extremely loving and get very attached to their owners, and these two are no exception! They are a combination of endearing, loving, silly, spunky, funny, active, and entertaining. They are always up to something, in something, or on top of something. They love kisses and laying on laps, and most of all, attention. Where you go, they go! They are there to help! Lol They love being by people! If you sit down, they are right there wanting pets, kisses and taking a lap nap. They will play, play, play with wand toys, da rat, spirals, little fuzzy balls and mice, ping pong balls, crinkly tunnels, blanket forts, anything and everything that looks like fun. Making beds, sweeping, and doing dishes is included in the fun. They eat both wet and dry food, and love water fountains. When we got the Orientals in, there were several kittens, and Taru has always been the head of the kitten clan. He and Riya bathed them and if they cried, Taru would always make sure they were ok. He is a dominant boy, and he has made new kitty friends, while in foster care, but it was a slow, gradual process. The ideal house would just be him and Riya, or if there are resident cats, no other dominant cat. If you're looking for a sedate, couch potato, and will be putting boundries in place (no jumping on the table, staying off the couch, closed bedroom door etc) do not apply for an Oriental! They do not have it in their DNA to conform to such silly rules! They are used to a quiet home, so no noisy dogs and no children under 14 yrs old. ADOPTION FEE (for the pair) $800.
