About Zinc

Located in Portland, Oregon. Looking for a buddy? Zinc is a 7 year old neutered male and is about the sweetest, best natured cat ever. We were asked to foster him to save him from euthanasia for no fault of his own. Zinc is shy at first but once he is used to people and places he is a real love bug. He loves cuddling, purring, and making biscuits. He is super good natured and will put up with nail trims and is a popular guy at the vet. He also likes to spend part of the day snoozing on his own. He does get little bursts of play energy and is a great bug hunter! Zinc is very noise sensitive so he needs to go to a quiet home. He gets along fine with our quiet little dog but rambunctious or barky dogs would not be a good fit. We're not sure how he would do with other cats but think he would adjust if introduced slowly. In his previous home he hid under the bed all the time from a toddler, so young kids are not a good fit. He would do great with an older, quiet kid to cuddle and play with. He would also be a great companion for any adult with a quiet home. When Zinc came to us 5 months ago he weighed a whopping 30 pounds! He is down to 25 but has some more weight to lose. He has some arthritis in his knees from carrying around too much extra weight but he doesn't have any problems getting around the house. He can't jump on counters but has no problem getting up on the couch. He is up to date on his vaccines and has had blood work, which looked great. There is no rehoming fee but we are committed to making sure he finds the right forever home, which is why he has been with us so long!
