Meet gentle, intelligent, observant Molly. We got her to be a livestock guardian dog on our 5 acres, but she chases our chickens and has interacted poorly with visitors. She's submissive and affectionate with her brother and our family (our kids are 5, and 80. She plays with our cats but has never hurt them. She's been good with our sheep. She has been a free-ranging outdoor dog but does well in the car, in a kennel, and on a leash. She is anxious when strangers are on our property. When she was 7 months old she bit an adult relative in the calf when he was taking something from our barn (with permission) when we were not home. She had barked and growled first and those warnings were ignored. We trust her fully with our kids but she does get anxious when other kids are over doing what kids do (running, yelling, etc.). We've done professional training with her since and she has responded well. But, living out of town, we don't have the ability to socialize her frequently enough. The trainer recommended keeping her in a fenced off area separate from visitors but we don't have the infrastructure to do that. In lieu of that, she would do well in a setting with more socialization, potentially becoming an indoor/ in-town dog. The trainer offered to do a free session with Molly's new family if she is adopted. Our whole family loves this dog and it's been hard to come to terms with us not being the best family for her. Message me if interested and/or needing more information.
