I rescued Hagrid from being euthanized. The shelter told me he was a stray they picked up so they don't know any history prior to him being there. They called him a 'staff favorite' because of his personality. He was next to be euthanized only because of his behavior changing. He was there a year and the last few weeks prior to me picking him up they said it was like 'He lost his mind. Gave up thinking this was his life and was never getting out' starting jumping and acting out which they said he never did before. He was used frequently as a dog tester for other incoming dogs because of his friendliness towards other dogs. He always had a kennel mate. He absolutely loves all dogs and I would love to see him go to a home with at least one other dog for him to bond with. He does well with both male and females. He also has warmed up to cats but he does find it a game to chase them which my cats hate so he might be better suited in a non cat household. Hagrid has never tried to escape. Has not jumped once to try to get out of the fence. He has dug a couple holes in the yard but in areas where there were plants, not to dig out of the yard. He does well on leash but does pull at times, needs a little more work on this. I have found that he is very weary of new people and if strangers approach him he has a tendency to want to nip them. He needs slow introductions but once he knows you and is comfortable he is such a loving dog. He was estimated to be about two years old, no known health issues. I'm getting him a teeth cleaning next week as he shows a lot of tarter build up. If any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
