Norman has a very sad story. He was reportedly found wandering along an exit ramp here in East Hartford, found and brought home by a resident who decided after a few weeks she did not want him and called us. Norman came to us very scared of all the things. Since he joined us he has started to open up, likes to be with us and likes time outside. He is finally wagging his tail!! He takes a while to get to know new people but food has been a wonderful motivator. Norman will likely need several meet and greets before adoption. He is very strong on leash and is 70-75 pounds of muscle. Norman's leash skills are not on par and he will need continued training after adoption. He does know 'sit' reliably. Norman needs a home without kids, cats or other dogs at this time. We want Norman to have the right start to decompression and learning to be a family dog again. He may in the future do well with kids, cats and dogs but currently they are not his thing. Norman needs someone who is committed to helping him acclimate to a new home on his timeline and providing him with much needed structure and companionship.
