About Jinx

Adoption Fee: 250
Toyger
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Jinx is 3 years old, has anxiety issues, and needs a calm no cat house. Must go to a good home with references Jinx has had a rough go at life. I was his 4th home when he was only 5 months old. First it was by no fault of his own, then because of litter box issues. I got him about three years ago and almost immediately put him on anxiety meds (prozac). The meds have been raised twice and when he's really anxious he's also on gabapentin. At first he was good with my cats, but got aggressive with my female cat. They fought badly, but he was mostly good about the litter box unless it was dirty. Now that his meds got raised, my other male cat (they were best friends) has become extremely aggressive towards Jinx, to the point of drawing blood. I think Jinx was getting attacked so much that he wasn't or couldn't use the litter box and his bathroom habits became even worse. He's now in a room by himself and does not have accidents (unless he deems the box too dirty, he's a little bougie, but will not use a Litter Robot fyi). On meds, Jinx is very affectionate and loves to lay on your lap or cuddle in bed. He's the first one in bed at night and stays all night. It's really hard and sad to have him in a room by himself because he likes affection so much. He has always been good with kids and even visiting dogs and foster kittens. He's very patient and lower energy - because of his meds. Also, you will NOT get bit or scratched by him, he's so careful and mindful of hurting people, it's really sweet. Off his meds (prozac) he's more feral than not, high anxiety and really won't let you pet him so I highly suggest keeping him on the prozac, it's only $4 for 2-3 months of meds. Other than his anxiety I have not had health issues with him. It's extremely hard to let this guy go, but I feel like I'm doing a disservice to him and I can't provide his ideal home. That is a real picture of him I had taken in 2022. He was a champion Toyger kitten before me and I showed him very briefly. He's a drop dead gorgeous cat, he just has very bad anxiety. I feel like his ideal home would have a catio or a safe outdoor area for him to focus his anxiety/energy.
