Pls meet Buster..HE IS A SPECIAL NEEDS DOG .HE IS INCONTINENT...HAS NO RECTAL TONE..CANNOT WEAR A DIAPER B/C HE WILL SIT IN HIS POOP&U WILL LITERALLY BE CHANGING THEM 100S OF TIMES/DAY..DONT ONLY LOOK AT HIS ADORABLE FACE . IF U HAVENT EXPERIENCED THIS&DONT HAVE KNOWLEDGE&FAMILIARITY W/THIS, PLS DONT THINK U WILL BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT B/C CHANCES ARE U WONT..THIS IS NOT FOR THE WEAK..Here is our story . my biggest addiction is empathy&it's very hard for me to turn my back on a dog. I've been trying to curtail rescuing, b/c I was diagnosed with cancer 3yrs ago. I actually had surgery Sept4th&was in the hospital for2mths due to complications&infections. I went to the Miami Dade shelter on June 14 to assist an applicant to adopt a dog, b/c I wanted to get one out from a shelter where they kill dogs, but I had no business going there&I knew it,b/c I don't know how to leave there empty-handed. Just as I was walking out&I thought I was safe,a young boy was coming in to surrender this tiny little puppy that@the time was just about 10lb. It was the end of the day. The little dog was wearing a diaper. W/his big crystal blue eyes staring at me, I just couldn't resist.I told him to give me the dog.I rushed him to the vet,as I thought he had parvo. They estimated him to be only 4wks old@the time. I noticed that he had a problem with his rectum, b/c I was constantly having to express him,&I took him back to the dr only to find out that the tail was obstructing his rectum, which I did surgery on to remove it. Unfortunately there was a lot more than just the obstruction. While I was in the hospital, I had him fostered with a dear friend. He has no control over his bowel movement whatsoever. I'm hoping with time, perhaps his feces will harden, but as of right now it is soft&he is running all over the place,&it is very difficult to keep up w/him, especially under my condition. People have suggested humanely euthanizing him, but this little dog is just the sweetest thing in the entire world. He has no clue he has a problem. I don't euthanize dogs b/c I'm suffering. I euthanize dogs b/c they are suffering. He is extremely loving&affectionate. I have a bumper sticker on my car that says 'rescue is my favorite breed', b/c sometimes I just really don't know what breed they are, however he mostly resembles an EngBulldog or an Old EngBulldog or a Bully. Who knows&who cares. To me, rescues are the best. I love him to death&I'll cry my eyes out to let him go, but b/c of my health condition, I just don't have the bandwidth physically to keep up w/him. Ideally he would be in a home where somebody could keep him mostly in a room that could be hosed down where they have the strength to be cleaning up after him regularly&they're familiar w/a special needs dog that is incontinent&they're going to love him as if he is their child w/his issues. He just wants love. He is dog friendly. He currently weighs 30 lb, but being that he's only about 6mths he has the potential to gain more weight. He has a sweet, loving disposition . He is a puppy, so he likes to play&he really should have a lot of toys to be able to chew. He does like to sleep a lot&relax. My goal is to make sure I get Buster the home that he needs w/someone who will love him&give him all the care, attention&affection that he deserves for the rest of his life&be able to be committed to his problem physically, mentally, emotionally& financially. B/C of his conditon&your need to clean after him,, u should live in a house&the yard must be completely enclosed w/priv fence (no chain link fence). Ive made the commitment to Buster to make sure I find him the opportunity to find the right home he needs&deserves. My promise to him now is to make sure I find him the best forever home w/one who will love him for the many yrs he has ahead ..an individual or family who will continue to let me know how wonderfully he is doing. Buster will be your best friend. Will you be his?? I am looking to find the perfect person/couple/family that will give him as much as he deserves&be able to handle his condition. HE IS THE FRIEND YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AND WILL LOVE YOU 4EVER...WILL YOU LOVE HIM? My heart is broken but I will not fail him. I am just going through too much w/my health to be able to handle something like this All shots are up to date&he will be adopted with any/all medical records. He is not neutered yet but will be prior to adoption, microchipped (&MICROCHIP WILL REMAIN IN MY NAME INDEFINITELY...CAN EXPLAIN WHEN WE SPEAK), heartworm negative&on heartworm&flea/tick prevention&if u adopt him u MUST keep him on both&up to date with yrly ck ups&vaccines.A phone interview, home check, STRONG VET REFERENCE SHOWING YOUR LEVEL OF COMMITMENT TO YOUR PETS&rehome fee of $700.
