About Captain

CAPTAIN is the most beautiful boy inside and out! We think he's a Blue Tick Hound & Blue Heeler mix who is just about 2 years old and weighs 32 pounds (he could use another few pounds on him too). He was found as a stray and we rescued him but it's clear he was once owned by someone because he's fully house-trained, crate-trained and loves people and other dogs. He's living with a great Foster family who have 3 dogs (ages 2-11) and he loves them all. He's smaller than most hounds and he's not a big barker which is a huge plus. He also has the most soulful eyes. His Foster Mom says ' He's such a good boy! He gets along great with my 3 dogs...it's really cute, he likes being part of a pack, you can just tell. He is energetic and playful and LOVES a squeaky toy but also likes to relax on the couch. He walks decently on a leash...pulls a little but not much and really loves being out on a walk and sniffing around. He's very affectionate and smart. He learned our routine in a day and goes in his crate on command.' Captain will thrive with an active family and would be a great running partner too. Ideally, he'd have a doggie sibling and a fully fenced in yard to play in. He'll be such a great dog for a loving active family.
