About Boone

Welcome Boone! This sweet boy was in dire straits, but thanks to our incredible board members stepping up to help, we were able to make room for him. Boone has been through so much-his stress caused him to lick and pace until his legs and backside were raw and bare. At just 43 lbs, he is painfully underweight, with a hot mess of a coat and deep wounds, including 'happy tail.' Today, when we picked him up, it was heartbreaking. But Boone amazed us all with his gentle soul. He handled his vet visit like a champ, meeting strangers with nothing but trust. Afterward, he patiently soaked in a medicated bath wrapped in a warm towel. Jenn, our medical board member, worked tirelessly to clean and treat his wounds and Nicole made sure his ears were cleaned as best as they could be. Big thanks to Kacy and Nicole for giving him a safe and loving freedom ride. Nicole even treated him to a McDonald's cheeseburger. When we saw his condition, we couldn't bear to leave him at the kennel. Donna, our founder, immediately offered a spare room to keep him safe and comfortable. Tonight, Boone is resting on a cozy bed, listening to lullabies, with a vet appointment in the late morning.
