About CHARLIE

CHARLIE is a 10 year old, 15 pound Poodle mix who was found as a stray. His finder held on to him for about a month looking for an owner before surrendering him to us. Charlie is a great dog. He has a friendly personality and is always happy! He's very cuddly and affectionate and definitely a lap dog. He follows his foster mom everywhere and loves attention. Charlie is quiet and calm except when you come home, at meal time, and after a bath, then he is very bouncy and tail waggy! Charlie does great with the dogs in his foster home, but does take issue with his foster mom's little lap dog because he doesn't want to share her lap. He would like all of the snuggles to himself, thank you very much! He would be fine with another small dog or as an only dog for a special person looking for a companion to spend a lot of time with. We have not had him around cats or kids but think he would be fine with older children familiar with little dogs. Charlie is housebroken, but not a fan of rainy days. He will use pee pads inside if he can't get outside. We are looking for a home with a fenced yard. At night, he sleeps on the big bed curled up next to his foster mom. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He had entropion (a condition where the eyelid is turned inward) affecting one eye. He had surgery to correct it and, true to his sweet nature, was a very good patient. MORE about CHARLIE: He lets out a few deep howls when his foster mom leaves the house and would prefer someone that is home most of the time. He loves a soft fluffy dog bed for naps.
