About River

River is a two-year old male Australian Shepherd. I originally rescued him from western North Carolina, but I am unable to keep him because of his behavior and aggression towards my husband, my cat, and my family's small dogs. River is smart and is very loyal to his person. He tends to gravitate towards women and has anxiety around men. He needs someone who has the time and skill to train/rehabilitate him. I cannot afford professional training and I refuse to take him to a shelter. He knows sit, stay, take it, is crate/leash trained and is house broken. From my experience, he has done okay with dogs his own size. I would highly recommend he goes to a home with no small pets or small children due to his reactivity. If I am unable to re-home him, he will have to be euthanized and I don't have the heart to do so. No rehoming fee. I just need him to go to a good home.
