About Blue

2/24/24 *Blue is being fostered in the Abingdon, MD area and can bet met with an approved application... Meet Blue! Blues eyes tell a story. A sweet soul so desperate to want to trust and love again. A story where the humans she so lovingly trusted were no where around to save her when she needed them the most. None of us will ever really know the extent of trauma she endured. Quite possibly a bait dog but no one will ever really know for sure. But none of that matters anymore because she is safe now.. and ready to find a soft place to land where she can live the life this sweet girl deserves. Blue is quiet�'�| observant.. and cautious. Most days, you don't even realize you have a dog because she is so well behaved in the house. She has moved mountains since we first acquired her and began working with her. She has come a long way. She will sit in your lap for groomings and pettings, and bonk you with her nose when you stop petting her for more! She now no longer prefers to be alone all the time and has begun playing with the other dogs. And her zoomies�'�| omg.. they are hysterical!!! ?? Blue is approximately 4 years old. She is a blue heeler X. She's a petite little thing. She is one that prefers a covered crate for security and cozy blankets to snuggle in. She loves the outdoors, knows basic commands and recalls off leash. She is 100% housebroken and has not had any accidents in the house or in the crate. She does not chase chickens or other animals. She has begun playing with other dogs of various sizes but slow introductions and monitoring are necessary to help keep her from getting over stimulated. She loves to cuddle and sleep. She will be one to sleep in a chair in your lap all day long. Or she would enjoy long walks and playing catch. She's very versatile. Blue will need someone who is not afraid to help her on her journey of healing. Someone who can keep her honest but not be intimidated to help her work through her fears. She would thrive best in a quieter household. She would not be ideal for a family with young children. Other non alpha dogs are fine but she will need a transition period to warm up to. Blue is up to date on her vaccines, spayed and microchipped. She is available for adoption through Tall Tails Rescue and Transport. If you're interested in a meet and greet, let me know! The adoption fee is $350 which covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, HW testing, chipping, health certificate and transport fees. All our dogs come with a 30 day, money back, trial period to make sure they are the right fit in your environment but if it doesn't work you will have to foster until the dog gets rehomed.
