OUR ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE SHOULD BE FILLED OUT AT www.socalweimrescue.org/apges/adopt (cut and paste) On December 4 this beautiful boy, MOWGLI, turned 8 years old. He doesn't act 8..he is youngish and playful. He loves loves LOVES playing in the dog park with multiple dogs both large and small. He is a gorgeous boy with a natural tail. He has really pretty white socks on his front feet with a white blaze on his chest making him unique. He gets tons of compliments wherever he goes. His story is like a lot of others since Covid hit. His family 'got busy'. Pure and simple. His young owner left him with her mother genuinely intending to come back for him but it didn't happen. His household had a few cats so Mowgli had been pretty much banished to the backyard with only a sliding glass door between him and the family he yearned for. Now that it is colder the mom knew the best thing for him, especially at his age, was to reluctantly find him a new home where he can maybe enjoy a sofa and a fireplace?? At the very least be inside enjoying a family who loves him. Mowgli is housetrained and good with other dogs. He loves to play and LOVES people. He is social and outgoing but scared of fireworks and thunder. Mowgli's favorite toys are Ropes, tennis balls, and rawhide. He loves his toys playing with everyone until he crashes into a deep sleep with tongue hanging out. He knows a few commands like Sit, stop, go back, give paw, go home, go to bed, and come here. Mowgli is an older boy and is not destructive in the home. He might do really well in an apartment setting with a person who loves the outdoors. His foster is in an apartment setting right now which seems to suit him just fine. He will dig and scratch in his bed to make the 'perfect' nest. He is a character who will delight you! His current foster simply can't believe he had been overlooked for several months. Because of his age?? You would never know he's 8! Because he has white on his paws?? Yeah'| maybe he's a mix but the important thing is his personality is amazing! Reliably house trained, loyal and the perfect snuggle bug. Do you want to meet him? Are senior dogs your thing?? He is fostered in Irvine near the Spectrum. Fill out our adoption questionnaire and get in touch if you want to get on the Happy Dog Band Wagon. Because of his age Mowgli has been with us several months. There's got to be someone who would love a snuggle bunny and loves the older dogs. Update from Mowgli's Foster: I want to see him adopted. He is so good with other dogs. Plays well, respects space, loves to be petted. Listens very well when called over. House and crate trained. He is definitely a diamond in the ruff. People comment how beautiful he is. He deserves to be in a home. He absolutely loves being outside. Whimpers when he can't. Not much but it can be funny. Not a barker except when he has a bad dream and seems to be barking at something. Doesn't happen a lot and I just put my hand on his tummy and pet him and that resolves it. And best of all he is not a bed hog
