Her prior 'owner' didn't care enough about her, kept her in the backyard, and Pepperika eventually burrowed out; she was running amok in the neighborhood by a busy highway for four months in the heat of the summer before a caring citizen notified us of the situation. We rescued her and encountered her prior 'owner' who laughed at us and said 'good luck trying to rescue her!' That 'owner' didn't care at all! Pepperika has acclimated well since her rescue! She has made quite an impression on both the adult and child volunteers at the rescue! She has been very social and has enjoyed being doted upon by the volunteer staff. She likes being the center of attention! She is a sucker for dandelion greens for treats. Her estimated DOB is March 2024. Her spay surgery is scheduled for December 1, 2024. Pepperika should start out living in an exercise pen (x-pen) otherwise known as a puppy pen. She can have that as her home base or transition to a room or a section of a room or free roaming. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it. Please be over 21 if inquiring about a rabbit. Pepperika can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. On adoption day, plan to spend approximately one hour at the rescue going over paperwork and general rabbit care information. Delivery is available up to 100 miles from Lake Elsinore. PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you've never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies! If you are seeking a rabbit as a companion for your existing rabbit, your rabbit should be spayed/neutered. Male/female bondings are usually recommended.
