*** No other cats*** *** No Children under the age of twelve *** *** Cat-friendly dogs could be OK *** Tigra is a beautiful brown-rosetted Bengal who is 3 years old. She is a TINY little lady but is mighty in her energy and her vocalness. Tigra came to us from a home that 'just didn't like her' and also indicated that she was urinating in inappropriate places. We soon discovered she had a MASSIVE Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) and the vet found her bloodwork to be so appalling he thought she might be septic or be suffering from kidneys or liver failure. After completing her antibiotic treatment, we re-tested her and she is now 100% healthy and happy. She has even bounced back to her friendly nature and we're so relieved! Tigra can be a bit skittish with her new surroundings. Every little new sound makes her jump a bit. Once she has explored her home and gets fully settled in, she loves her new environment. We learned that Tigra's original family didn't engage with her or play with her. At first, she was not sure what toys were and when playing with them she was puzzled a bit. She loves her feather wand toy the best. We have also introduced her to some interactive motorized toys which she enjoys. She is a picky eater, and we have tried several wet canned foods. She will eat Hills wet food approximately 3 times a day. She loves Delectables lickable pouch treats (Stew formula). She also likes Churu lickables treats but she does not know how to lick them out of the package - so you must put them on a plate. She also likes freeze-dried chicken treats. Even though she had a bad UTI infection she has been using her litter box every time. Her former owner said she likes to chew on electrical cords, but her foster has not observed that behavior at all. In fact, she has a toy that has a silicone attachment, and she does not seem to want to play with it. Tigra likes pets on her terms and will balance on one leg or knee instead of the whole lap. She will rub up against you but mostly likes to observe from afar. She needs to be in a quiet home with someone who can give her time and patience for her to be a confident cat. The foster has a cat-friendly dog (Jack Russell terrier). She puffed her tail once when she first met him but now will rub up against him though she remains cautious. She could live with a laid-back small dog. Tigra does not like other cats and will growl and hiss and wants nothing to do with them. We feel she would do better to be the only cat in the home. Otherwise, Tigra is a healthy cat who just wants to hang around and be part of the family. She is up to date on her vaccines, is spayed and microchipped. She has a water fountain that she loves and her new family will need to be sure to offer that to her (must be cleaned weekly). This is to ensure her an ongoing healthy urinary tract.
