Riley is a sweet and affectionate lab mix who we are heartbroken to have to rehome. We adopted Riley before having children and unfortunately, she is not adjusting well to living with a baby and toddler. She is wonderful with kids when she is up and about and ready to play but when it is time for her to lay down, toddlers make her very anxious. She needs to live in a home with no small children. Riley loves to play fetch (balls are her all-time favorite toy), go on walks and be with her people! She has been through basic and intermediate dog training and knows the following commands: sit, down, stay, come, shake, place, leave it and touch. We have been focusing on her leash manners for the past six months and she is doing wonderfully! She may pull occasionally, especially when passing another dog, but her improvement has been marked. We are confident that with frequent walks her manners will only get better! Riley has lived with another dog for the last five years however she has a dominant personality. She could do well with a more submissive dog but it may be best for her to be an only dog. She has lived with multiple cats of varying personalities (more assertive and very skittish) and has been great with all of them. She is living with two cats now! Fun fact about Riley: When she was a puppy, we would hide tennis balls in blankets for her to find. She now plays this game by herself! She will drop a ball in a blanket and paw at the blanket to hide it. Then she will very enthusiastically 'dig' it back up! She will strut around proud of herself after finding her ball before dropping it back on the blanket and doing it all over again. This never fails to make us laugh!
