About Roxy

Adoption Fee: $fee
Australian Cattle Dog mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Roxy! Roxy (Roxanna, Roxanne, Roxo) is an 11 month old cattle dog mix. We first fostered Roxy when she was around 13 weeks old. We quickly fell in love and made her a part of our family. Roxy is a sweetheart. She adores people and is very smart. She is a petite medium size breed. Roxy is potty trained, spayed, up to date on visits and vaccinations, a great walker and is currently being trained using a training collar. Roxy also sleeps very well through the night in her kennel. We do keep her kennel in our bedroom as she really enjoys being close to her people. Roxy loves and needs a good amount of exercise. We try to walk her at least twice a day. We originally felt good about our situation given we have a fenced in yard and two other pups to play with her. She loves lapping the yard (full speed) with a ball or toy. Unfortunately as Roxy grew older, she learned to jump our 4 ft. fence. Now she is obsessed with leaping over and looking for more dogs to run around with! We live off of a very busy street and this is causing so much anxiety for us thinking about her going into the front where the cars are. While Roxy is great buds with our dogs, she gets very wild and constantly wants to play with them. Our dogs are becoming overwhelmed with her constant need to play. When our dogs are not around, she is so great... calm and very enjoyable to be with. Roxy would be an amazing pet in a home without other dogs or cats. We take Roxy to many places with us. She loves Lowes, Home Depot, sporting events and school pickup and drop off. When it's just her ... she is an absolute delight! We feel it is only fair to Roxy and to our family to work on finding her a new home. Roxy will need active humans who love to be out and about as much as her! She would thrive if she could just run full speed a couple of times a day. She is used to walks and would love to continue those as well. I want to be honest and upfront about Roxy. As I mentioned, she jumps fences, would do well with a human only environment, and when walking she will lunge a bit and gets vocal toward stranger dogs. After meeting the dogs she is typically just fine, but she does seem uncertain at first. We are working on this with her training collar and she is doing well. We truly only want the best for Roxy. If you or someone you know would like to meet her please feel free to reach out. We want to help her find the absolute best possible forever home. Thank you!
