This is one special dog! Meet Jackson, whose foster describes him as a well-adjusted young dog. He is 14 months old, vac'd and neutered, house trained. He's playful, friendly, quick to learn. He focuses very well when treats are in hand! He learned to use the doggy door in 2 minutes. Amazing! Jackson has shown no aggression to humans or other dogs. Sometimes a little rambunctious with the foster's 15# chihuahua. He stays very busy batting balls around between his paws and trying to fit two balls in his mouth. His foster has given him freedom in a fenced large area and he always comes back to her with or without treats. His foster watched him chase another dog running after a ball but he did not try to steal the ball. He has met a few new people in the short time she has fostered him, and was very sweet and friendly to them. Same with other dogs. A dog at the park acted a little aggressive towards him and Jackson backed away. He's super smart and focuses on his person. His foster thinks he will be easy to train in any direction. Even as just a hiking buddy. They are working on leash training as he does pull a bit, but he will pick that up quickly. He spent his first night with his foster in a crate and cried a little but now he sleeps on a bed near her bedroom door. He has been very quiet and well behaved overnight. Jackson is a very nice dog, friendly, inquisitive, and has only barked when chasing balls. He is the perfect companion for someone who would not mind spending a little time helping him become a model dog citizen! Jackson is being fostered in northern California. He weighed in at 49lbs so could use some long walks to drop a few lbs. Do you have room in your life for this beautiful, loving dog? Jackson's adoption fee is $400.
