Courtesy Posting: CODE RED/ CLEARED FOR EUTHANASIA, COULD BE TODAY- THIS YOUNG ADORABLE BOY IS 'SOCIAL WITH STAFF' - Riverside Shelter, San Jacinto location, So Cal - ID - 'CHIP ', ID #A1829085, a 1 YR OLD WHITE SAMOYED MIX WHO WEIGHS 51 LBS. HELP!!! THIS SHELTER IS OVERFULL and EUTHANIZING YOUNG ADOPTABLE DOGS FOR ANY REASON AND THIS YOUNG BOY IS NOW AT GREAT RISK TO BE KILLED TODAY OR VERY SOON. WE ARE DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR a RESPONSIBLE HOME OR FOSTER AND RESCUE TO SAVE HIS LIFE, SHELTER ALREADY ISSUED 72 HR OTHER DAY AND TOLD US HE HAS BEEN CLEARED TO BE KILLED. This adorable young man was found as a stray and brought to this high kill shelter. We have named him 'Chip'. He is listed by the shelter as a 1 year old, 51 lb Samoyed mix, but he had been originally listed as a chow mix, possibly causing him to be overlooked. The shelter tells us the, 'Breed has been changed to Samoyed mix. Dog does not have a purple/black tongue'. We want to help him regardless, he is adorable and friendly with people. Video we were just given shows a playful dog in the playyard. Per shelter notes they sent us, Chip is 'Social with staff. He was in an altercation with kennelmate casing injuries to kennelmate. Unknown cause. Unable to house with other dogs. He is status needs rescue behavior red and has been cleared for euthanasia.' Unfortunately, we see altercations even with very dog friendly dogs when they are thrown together in a kennel after starving as strays on the street, and then having to share a food bowl. He must have been friendly with the other dog originally or they would/should not have thrown them into together. We/they also do not know what happened or who even started it. And now Chip has very little time to find placement. Although he is 'rescue needs', he can also be adopted through the shelter and you can place an interest request by using his listing link (in the comments of this post) and following the steps. But do also calling the shelter directly to note your interest. If you can possibly help or foster, please contact us asap at: [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist with his placement as rescue groups need a foster to save him.
