I originally rescued this beautiful purebred Bluetick Hound from the Monroeville county shelter just before Christmas last year. She was malnourished and heart worms confirmed. I put 15 pounds on her as recomended and had her de-wormed and given required rabies vac. and spaded. And is doing great health wise. She is a sweetheart and has been through a lot in her young life. However, I have learned that, being true to the breed, she needs ample space to run and explore and howl and do what she was bred to do. She does do well inside and will sleep most of the day if you let her. I have another dog, an older birddog pointer and they get along well. I have not had her around other dogs yet so not not certain how she does with other dogs. Overall she is a sweetheart, and I'm glad that I rescued and saved her originally. But as I stated above, she really needs a place where she can run and be free when she goes outside.
