Artemis Rose is a 5 year old spayed Corgi. Artemis came into rescue very emaciated. After lots of tests and treatments it was determined that she had EPI ( Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). What this means is that her pancreas is unable to produce the enzymes needed to break down fats and proteins and carbohydrates. So despite how much she ate she could not absorb nutrients. Now that she has been started on enzyme supplements with her meals she has begun to gain weight. Artemis will need to have pancreatic enzymes with her food for the rest of her life. She also gets Vitamin B12 supplements daily as this helps her with nutrient absorption as well. Artemis Rose is a good girl who does well with other dogs. She is curious about the cats but can refocus quickly. Is people friendly and does well with car rides. She is house and crate trained and walks on leash. Artemis is looking for a family who is able to give her the little extra she needs at meal time and she will make them a good companion. We do recommend older children only because she is still learning how to take treats gently from the hand since she was so hungry for so long. She is microchipped and vaccinated and heartworm negative and on preventative.
