Mia is a beautiful, pure bred white labrador that I rescued from a puppy mill in Utah when she was 4 years old. I did not realize that she had been abused and apparently by a man so was not prepared for the challenge that was before me. We have lived together for 2 years now and she still will not come to me and barely will let me pet her. She seems to be much more open to my daughter-in-law when we visit her home. I really love Mia, but feel she should be in a home that she can really feel safe. I am 91 years old and do not feel I can be the owner she needs to heal and enjoy the rest of her life. After living with her for two years, I feel she would do best in a home with a single female with no children or cats. She loves to go on walks and needs to because if she's inactive she will gain weight. She enjoys being outside in the backyard, and comes inside to sleep. She is leash and housetrained, has been neutered and has all her shots .
