About SOCKS

Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Name:'''''' Socks Age: ' 18 months '' Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Staffordshire Terrier Mix, Appx 60 pounds Location: St. Louis, Missouri Vet Info: Socks is up to date with vaccines, has been neutered and is heartworm negative. With the exception of his vision issues, Socks is a healthy pup who likes to play and be loved. He is blind in his right eye but can see shadows in his left. He has cataracts in both eyes and glaucoma in his left eye. He currently receives eye drops every 12 hours and is cooperative for his drops. Info From Good Samaritan: Socks is so very loved in his current home and his family is very upset over having to find him a new home. He was born to the pregnant rescue pup his family took in and has lived with them since he was born. He currently lives with five other dogs: 3 females and 2 males. He gets along well with the female dogs and they play nicely together but Socks has been reactive to the other male dogs if food, toys or treats are involved. He loves to play, eat and have treats but his current owner does these activities with him on a 1:1 basis. Socks would do best in an adult only home and as an only dog or with female dog companions. Per owner, Socks is house, crate and leash trained. He has not had any formal obedience training but does know commands to sit; lay down; back up; get down; pee; poop; food; outside and treat. He will need time to adapt to new surroundings and people but navigates well with his ability to see shadows and does navigate some stairs in his current home. Socks will bark when he hears new voices and will take some time to warm up and get comfortable. He loves to sit on the laps of his human or just be in their presence.
