About Walter

WALTER is a 5 year old, 13.8 pound Maltipoo who was surrendered to rescue due to an illness in the family. He is a handsome boy with gorgeous eyes! WALTER is a sweet boy who will follow you around and give lots of kisses. He loves snuggling close to his person and wants attention all the time. He is a big fan of belly rubs! Walter can be skittish with strangers and the unfamiliar and warms up to women quicker than men. He does not like being left alone much and will bark and chewed his leash in half the first time his foster family left him for a few hours. Walter is good with other dogs and likes to play with them and with toys. We think he would be fine as an only dog, but he would also enjoy having a dog companion. He has good energy and likes to run the yard and enjoys chasing squirrels. He will need a secure fenced yard. He is a digger and needs to be watched outside even in a fenced area. He is not fully housebroken and needs some more work on that. He is okay on a leash. At night, he sleeps with his foster family on the bed. WALTER has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. MORE about WALTER: He has not been around kids or cats since we have had him. If there are kids in the home they should be older (12+). He barks when he hears noises from outside and when someone comes into the house. He's a loyal little lover!
