LOCATION: Lagrange, GA DOB: 12/30/2023 Hi, I'm Emory! I'm a 10-month-old Great Dane puppy who was rescued from South Alabama. My previous owner turned me over to save Rocky, hoping I would have a better life. Before coming to my foster home, I lived with over 20 brothers and sisters, so I'm great with all animals-dogs, cats, chickens, and even guinea pigs! I like to charge at the cats, but I'm just trying to get them to play with me. My foster mom says I might have some hound dog in me because I love to howl when I hear sirens and my nose is always sniffing around, especially in the morning when I'm trying to figure out what's been in my yard. I would love a home with other animals, not just humans, because I enjoy the attention from my new brothers, including a little beagle who screeches at me crazily. I love kids, big and small. I've been around babies as young as five months, and my favorite humans right now are a one-and-a-half-year-old and an 11-year-old. I'm a bit skittish around new people since I've only been in my foster home for two weeks, but I've surprised everyone with how well I walk on a leash. Sometimes I can be a little overprotective of my humans and might step in front of them, causing them to stumble, but I'm working on that. I'm potty trained and prefer not to be alone. My foster mom calls me a Velcro dog because I love to be right by her side, which sometimes drives her crazy when she turns around and I'm under her feet. I'm still a work in progress. Some of my favorite things include getting chased by my three foster brothers and doing zoomies, especially in the morning and before bedtime. My energy levels go up and down, but those zoomies help me sleep well. I'm still a puppy, so I do chew a little, but I stop as soon as you redirect me. I only bark when my brothers do, and I quiet down when you tell me to. I try my best to follow all the instructions my foster mom gives me. I get along well with others, although the beagle sometimes snaps at me when I try to eat from his bowl. I've learned to eat from my own bowl, but I still like to sniff around. During dinner time, I lay down next to the table and don't move. I'm super affectionate and love to give hugs and kisses. Sometimes I try to stand up for a big hug, but I'm working on controlling that, especially around the babies. All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .
