About Rocky

ROCKY is a 5 year old, 11.6 pound Maltipoo who was surrendered to rescue due to an illness in the family. He was well loved and cared for by his family. ROCKY is a snuggler and loves to sit with his person. He wants to be with his family as much as possible and does get a little anxious when his foster family leaves the house. He will bark at the back door but settles down after a few minutes. He is very friendly and sweet and loves his person the most, but also does well with the other dogs in his foster home. He likes to play with them and would be very happy with a doggy friend. Rocky is 95% housebroken, knows how to use the doggy door and will go outside to potty. We would prefer that he has a home with a secure fenced yard. We were told that he will dig out if given an opportunity. We have not experienced that with him, although he definitely has exhibited curiosity at the fence line. He should not be outside unsupervised. He needs stay on leash if he is not in a fenced area. Rocky knows how to walk on a leash, rides well in the car and is always ready to go, go, go wherever his person goes! He sleeps at the bottom of the big bed all night. ROCKY has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. MORE about ROCKY: Since coming into rescue he has not been around cats or kids. His foster mom thinks he would enjoy an older child to play with. He has a sweet gentle nature and will be a great companion for some lucky person. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments and dogs with behavioral issues are local adoption only. We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit.
