His prior 'owner' didn't care enough about him, kept him in the backyard, and Ebenezer eventually burrowed out; he was running amok in the neighborhood by a busy highway for four months in the heat of the summer before a caring citizen notified us of the situation. We rescued him and encountered his prior 'owner' who laughed at us and said 'good luck trying to rescue him!' That 'owner' didn't care at all! Ebenezer immediately started tooth purring once he arrived at the rescue.%A0 He slept so hard that first day I dare not try to awaken him. Poor baby, he was tired of surviving on the streets. Despite his tragic beginning, he is a trusting, sweet, curious, friendly fellow! He has the good nature of a Havana bun. He knows he is safe now and I only expect his personality to continue to blossom! His estimated DOB is March 2024. His neuter is scheduled for December 2, 2024. Ebenezer should start out living in an exercise pen (x-pen) otherwise known as a puppy pen. He can have that as his home base or transition to a room or a section of a room or free roaming. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it. Please be over 21 if inquiring about a rabbit. Ebenezer can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. On adoption day, plan to spend approximately one hour at the rescue going over paperwork and general rabbit care information. Delivery is available up to 100 miles from Lake Elsinore. PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you've never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies! If you are seeking a rabbit as a companion for your existing rabbit, your rabbit should be spayed/neutered. Male/female bondings are usually recommended.
