Meet Rosie This little nugget, Rosie, is a wonderful dog. She is safe in our care now, but sadly, she's led a life of neglect and abuse. Rosie didn't deserve any of what happened to her, but thankfully a kind family member saw her plight and had her surrendered to us. Rosie has been decompressing in foster care with one of our staff members. She is enjoying her time inside where she's warm and safe with people who love her. Rosie is a tiny pug mix. She weighs about 20 lbs., so skinny and fragile. Her eyes show her defeat, but her demeanor shows her hope. She's 10-12 years old. Rosie has lived outside for the past four years. She was left behind with a friend and this person never even cared enough to know if she was a girl or boy. They just threw her out back in a fenced pen filled with junk, where she was left out in all sorts of weather and at the mercy of predators. She received no care, barely any food and definitely no love. We are making up for lost time. Rosie these days only knows kind words, warm blankets, good food and safety. Rosie has seen a vet. She did so well, and the vet staff loved her. Thankfully Rosie is HW negative, her lungs look clear, and her lumps and bumps are not cancer. Rosie, however, does suffer from kidney disease. This illness cannot be cured, but it can be managed with proper food for kidney disease and Benazepril. Rosie is such a sweetheart. She gets around great. She loves walking and exploring. She is so gentle and friendly. Rosie does great with people, likes other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats. She is well-mannered. Rosie travels well, likes to go places and is one terrific companion. Rosie has a lot of life to live and love to give. We are searching for a loving family to care for Rosie through her golden years. To give her the love, safety, protection and companionship that she missed out on her whole life. If you love the seniors and are interested in giving Rosie a wonderful life, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org.
