REHOMING OUR BLACK LAB!! '%BC%8F READ THE ENTIRE POST'%BC%8F REHOMING FEE APPLIES'%BC%8F VET REFERENCE REQUIRED, NO EXCEPTIONS!! %90%BE Boomer will be 2yrs old estimated in February. We rescued him in April 2024. Will be due for shots soon, and they can be done before I rehome him! He is not neutered. %90%BE Boomer would do very well in a home with at least one adult male, as HE WILL NOT MIND A FEMALE. He does not mind me, and never has. Rarely minds only if a male is present. He is 100% my husbands dog, loves him to death. Would do anything for his human. Unfortunately, with him being gone more often, it's resulting in a negative coping behavior from this dog. He has accidentally bitten me twice, and will scratch on purpose, bad enough to break skin. My husband is starting a new job, and will not have time to spend with him that is necessary for us to be able to keep him. %90%BE Most of the time, you can verbally correct him with a stern tone in your voice. And he will go lay down and stay away for awhile. But when he comes back around, he's very standoff-ish and mopey. He is a lab, so of course he's hardheaded & extremely stubborn when he wants to be. He's also a professional ignorer. %90%BE He can be very quiet, sweet, loving & cuddly, but his behavior will get the best of him sometimes. And he loves to roughhouse and play. About 70% of the time you'll find him laying around, enjoying a nap. He can be very lazy. You can occasionally find him roughhousing with another dog in the home. HE HAS NEVER HURT MY PUPPY. If he gets too rough, you can say 'boomer go lay down' and that's the end of that. %90%BE He absolutely LOVES a good 100ft runner cable & is trained to go to it and wait to be hooked up. Will stay out there happily for HOURS on end. Loves a good ball, toys, bones, etc. VERY FOOD MOTIVATED!! Bring home McDonald's, and he'll be your BFF! %90%BE Does not ride well in a car, and takes 2 people to literally force him to get in a vehicle. Does not walk well on a leash. He will pull you around the yard, and disobey in a heartbeat, no matter how many times you pop his choke chain. Would do better in a fenced in yard, where he can just run. %90%BE NOT BEEN TESTED AROUND SMALL CHILDREN, CATS, OR LIVESTOCK!! More than happy to meet if you have small kiddos, to see if this will work! %90%BE He is great with female dogs young and old. He originally came from a home with all male dogs, personally not had him around any males, so I cannot say for sure if he does okay. %90%BE Has a good bark on him, and is fairly protective, once he gets to know you. %90%BE Knows how to sit, shake, paw, treat, go outside, go home, kennel, 'get under the bed', 'down the hall', 'are you hungry' when it's time to eat. Semi house trained. Semi crate trained. He will not use the bathroom in his kennel, but he will not hesitate to damage a kennel either. We were leaving him out, and he did fine for a while, then he started destroying things in our home. Please help us find our boy a new home!! We absolutely hate to do this, but it's necessary %8D Baldwin county Alabama Ara Richardson (251)284-2360 TEXT ONLY!!
