Sweet and shy, Plinko enjoys being held and cuddled and has a gentle, happy purr for people he trusts. He came from a situation where he wasn't treated well, and he also had an upper respiratory infection when he came to Purr Partners Feline Rescue. He has long since recovered from the illness, but it may have left him with a weak sense of smell, because he isn't generally interested in food and needs someone to sit with him and feed him special extra-stinky food several times throughout the day to make sure he is getting enough to eat. We hope that in time he will no longer need this and will be able to eat normally on his own, but we can't guarantee it. Plinko's favorite activity is watching birds and squirrels out the window, but he also enjoys rolling a ball around the room, crinkling papers, and pouncing on his cat friends as they walk by. Sometimes he gets the zoomies and races up and down the stairs chasing invisible specks. But mostly he is a quiet and chill kitten. We can't tell yet whether the quiet is because he is still recovering from being malnourished, or if he is just uncommonly calm for a young male cat. It's likely he will become more active as his condition continues to improve. After his rough start in life, Plinko is still easily startled by noises and people moving toward him suddenly. He would enjoy a quiet house with other cats and human adults or teens to keep him company. So far he has seemed very nervous around dogs, and it's possible he had a bad dog experience in his past. For now, he needs an experienced cat person who is home most of the day who can give him 4-5 meals a day spaced out every few hours, though hopefully this won't be necessary for too long. Plinko gets along well with other friendly cats but isn't recommended for households with young children or dogs.
