This sweet face belongs to Stella, a 2 years old Blue Heeler/ Cattle Dog and short haired pointer mix who weighs between 30-35 lbs. Stella knows a lot: Sit, stay, come, lie down (but she thinks that means flop for belly rubs, we are working on it). This smart gal is she is eager to learn anything. Stella is house trained and will just need reinforcement in her new home. Stella is also crate trained and sleeps there at night. Stella is good with men, women, and kids. She can be shy if meeting many people at once but is very friendly when she gets a moment to say hi. Stella has been good with dogs of all sizes. One little dog kept getting in her face and she gave an appropriate but strong correction. Stella lives with dogs in her foster home and loves the big rough housing dogs. She has also has been friendly with friendly guest's dogs. She is also very polite with our cats in the home. Stella is good on a leash and loves car rides. She will be a great adventure and road trip buddy. Stella does need an active home who knows how to keep a herder busy. If left outside, she gets bored and can be an escape artist. If engaged with attention, exercise and toys, she is a gem. Stella is a special girl who just needs a home to go slow and be kind and consistent with her training. Then she really shines. She has occasionally joined her foster mom in therapy practice and has an uncanny ability to take her front paws, hold someone's hands, and give them the deepest, soul-deep stare until they agree to cuddle her. She has the cutest bouncy run when she's excited, is very polite, loves going on adventures, and is clearly seeking a person she can call her own. Stella is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her rabies vaccine. She is located in Glencoe, CA north of Sonora and ready to meet adopters who can come here (or close) to meet and adopt.
