About Maple

Maple is a 3.5 year old cattle dog/Australian shepherd mix who is ready for her forever home. Maple is 45 lbs and in great health. She has never had any health issues or concerns. Maple has been house trained since she was very young and has not had accidents in the house. When left alone in the house, Maple is very good- she does not tear furniture or home goods or get into the trash. She seems to like the quiet time! Maple has been on 14 mile backpacking trips and kept the pace. She loves sleeping outdoors and will be flexible to your camping set up with time. She is great at fetch and tug of war, and watching her catch a frisbee is a treat! Maple is a reactive and anxious dog and would require your patience and time to get to know her and her triggers (reflections of light, runners/bikers, cars passing by, unfamiliar people, other dogs). Maple has had training to compensate for her reactivity but will require additional training. She is quick to learn! It has been a hard decision to rehome maple, but we have recently had a baby who is now 4 months old. We cannot keep up with Maple's need for daily vigorous walks/hikes and mental stimulation. Her quality of life is really important to us and we cannot give her what she needs currently. We truly believe that Maple will become your best friend with your time and energy. She is a true companion, loyal, and a huge cuddle bug!
