Phineas is 10 years old and in need of a new home and through no fault of his own. He has tested negative for FIV/FELV and is microchipped. He is overall a healthy cat but he does have feline asthma, which is easily maintained. His asthma is not severe. He does have an inhaler. To ensure his well-being, Phineas would thrive in a home with non-smokers and a clean home environment free of allergens, dust, and debris. Safe, pet friendly cleaning products to keep the home clean and it's better to use around asthmatic cats. NO SCENTED PLUG INS! It's toxic to pets and it triggers his asthma. He'll need to use an unscented/dust free specific cat litter. I would highly recommend an air purifier in the home, which would be beneficial for him. I will give the adopter a Levoit air purifier which is a great brand and works very well. Phin has not needed his inhaler for a few months since setting up the new air purifier in my home and by making sure I keep my home clean. It has helped a ton with his asthma. I understand if this seems too much and scares people away, but it really shouldn't. If I'm able to easily care for him and provide what he needs to live comfortably without triggering his asthma then so can you. Phineas is a sweet and very laid-back cat who enjoys the simple pleasures of life. He likes to play with toys from time to time but prefers relaxing and taking a nap. He is affectionate and enjoys showering his human companion with love and purrs. He prefers the company of older children who are gentle and respectful with him, making him an ideal companion for families with older kids or adults. He would do best as the only cat in the household, or in a household with one other cat who will be fine with him being an alpha male. He is great with small dogs as long as they're friendly and calm, not constantly in his face. I'm not sure how he'll act around a large dog. Phin is an avid bird and lizard watcher! If you have a secure lanai/patio where he can safely indulge in his hobby is a plus. He'll be in his element, enjoying the sights and sounds of the great outdoors from the comfort of his home. He also loves to lounge in the cat tree. I don't take this lightly so I want to make sure I find the right home for him.
