About Mora

Mora is a great 7.5 month old blue weimaraner puppy, but needs more obedience training and a family who will give her more activity. We are experienced Weimaraner owners and give her a lot of attention and exercise, but we have a toddler, and she needs even more than we can give. She is sweet with all people and dogs, but needs work on her house manners like jumping and mouthing. She has basic obedience training and recall, but as an energetic puppy, she needs more work. She loves to play fetch and tug. She is very mouthy when she plays, which has become an issue with our child, since she sees her as a puppy peer and ends up biting too hard when she plays. She needs to go to a home without young kids. She just wants to play and chew, so will chew up kid's toys if given the chance. But she is sweet and cuddly with kids otherwise. She has started resource guarding with high value bones and food, which is ultimately why we have decided to re-home her. She has never bitten anyone out of aggression, but she growls when someone comes near her when she has food or bones. Too risky for a house with a toddler. She's fine with sharing toys though. She's very smart and trainable, with someone who has the time to make her an amazing dog. She walks well on a gentle leader, but pulls with just a collar or harness. We will be very selective about who adopts her because we love her so much and we just want her to go to someone who can train her and exercise her better than we can. Someone who has a lot of land ideally, and who is very active. She needs a fenced in backyard (she will chase squirrels or run into the street to greet passersby). We briefly tried using an E-collar fence, but she didn't respond to it well and it made her very anxious. Gentle training methods ONLY. The only reason she isn't spayed yet is because she hasn't gone into heat yet and we were waiting for her first heat, as per our vet's suggestion. We DO NOT want her to go to a breeder who will just use her for breeding.��%BD%A0She is microchipped.
