About Havoc

Rottweiler / Australian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Havoc needs a home. He is a byproduct of an inadvertent breading of a rescued stray Aussie/AmStaff mix my husband brought home that was found emaciated on the side of the road whom went into heat before we could get her fixed and our purebread Rottweiller. A total of 9 puppies came from the litter all were homed except two that we added to our pack. Havoc went to a home at 8 weeks old and was returned due to behavior issues related to a small pug (he bit him under excited circumstances involving running children and pug) and reports of uncontrollable behavior (he was not leash trained and had no manners) at 9 months old. His prior owners were going to bring him to the shelter so I took him back, began working on him, integrated him in with my pack, got his immunizations up to date and had him neutered. I am currently fostering him, but frankly, he needs more than I can give him to live his best life. He is currently living with my pack of 5 other dogs - his mom, his dad, two siblings and another dog. He is crate trained (but does have some separation anxiety if everyone else is not in their crates) has been on numerous road trips, is getting better with manners, learning to wait to be released at thresholds, and for food, basic sit/lay down commands are intact, we continue to work on leash walking and at this time he will walk well with pinch collar. Havoc needs a home and a person who has patience, and can dedicate the time and energy he deserves for him to be his best self. He is dominant, and is most poorly behaved when overly excited/stimulated, and can be very rude and aggressive to other dogs at times which is slowly improving with correction, and pack exposure, but his home is full of 5 other dominant dogs so there is a lot of attitude in my house. I will say that his exercise needs are not being adequately met although we are trying - he has a nigher need than the rest of my crew. He vibrates on the high end. Now that all the things that my turn off most people from have been said, I must say he is affectionate, sweet and wants to work. It took only a few reptitions of the wait command for feeding and thresholds for him to catch on. All the dogs line up and eat together next to each other (I don't allow bowl drifting), he is also able to line up with other dogs in the pack and take treats with them one at a time by name without sqabbling - but of course supervision and micromanagement is the key there. I think he would do well as an only dog as long as his person were able to be with him all the time, but would do really well in a home with another large dog as he appears to very much want to be with the group.
