Nami (short for Tsunami) is a spirited dog with a lot of personality! She will be 3 years old in January and is Microchipped. When she first joined our family at 10 weeks old, she brought boundless energy and a few quirks along with her. She loves to explore and is alert and quick to learn, especially when there's a treat involved. One of her unique traits is her enthusiasm for food. She has a natural instinct to guard her food, so she may do best in a home without young children or with someone experienced in working with food guarding behaviors. She has a tendency to jump on tables to get food, but she's improving with training and guidance. Of note, although there were a few episodes of nipping at fingers when she was younger, she really only growls if someone gets near her food, but she has not bitten or nipped at anyone in over a year. She is a curious soul and needs consistent outdoor time to prevent accidents in the house. Progress and Needs: Nami has come a long way since we first welcomed her. While she's made great strides with her food-guarding and counter-surfing, she still needs someone with time and patience to help her continue on her journey. With our busy household and young kids, we've realized she'd thrive best with an adopter who has a bit more time and structure to offer. Ideal Home: Nami would do wonderfully with an active individual or family who can provide her with regular walks, training, and lots of love. She'll fit right in with someone experienced in caring for dogs who have a few quirks, and she'll reward you with loyalty, affection, and endless amusement! If you're ready to give Nami the attention and love she deserves, she's ready to be your new best friend.
