Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Landenberg, PA for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Lucas! Lucas is a 10-year-old, 11 lb., Yorkie mix who was brought to a shelter as a stray. He was suffering from an upper respiratory infection and bad teeth and really needed someone to watch over him. Lucas came into rescue and received a neuter, dental, and medication for his infection. Feeling so much better, with far fewer teeth, he loves his mealtimes. Lucas has the beginning of eye decline but has no trouble finding his way. He has good hearing, walks well on a leash, and gets along well with dogs and kids. Lucas is almost fully potty trained and wears belly bands on occasion. He can handle stairs and enjoys being picked up. Lucas doesn't like to be crated but is a very good boy when left on his own. He is a talker, and has a lot to say, so a single family home would be ideal for him. Lucas has a medium energy level and loves his toys. Balls, squeakers, and bones are all a must for this pup. Lucas greatly enjoys going on walks, snuggling with his people, and getting belly rubs. He will also demand some good lap time. Lucas likes to sleep in bed and promises to keep you warm this winter.
