Flash is a very well taken care of dog. He is friendly, playful, curious, happy. He is great with my 20 month old granddaughter. He is nervous with strangers at first, but calms down. Larger family gatherings that fill up our home can be a little more nerve wracking because he is always on alert and on the move because of his breed type. The anxiety has gotten worse over the years, again because of the constant traffic noise that comes from the main street we live on. We have used a behavioral trainer and I believe that with the right person who understands Aussies and can train him and exercise him, Flash would be one heck of an amazing pet. He is so close to it now. He loves to take walks and go to doggie daycare. He is food and treat motivated, but does not chew on toys. They have been offered for years. He likes to chew on rawhide-type bones and greenies. He knows a number a basic tricks, but fetch isn't one of them because he is nervous being in our backyard due to the traffic. He is very smart and learns fast, so that could easily be taught in the right environment. Flash can walk on a leash well. He gets curious when other dogs are around, but will walk past them. He does enjoy stopping and smelling the roses. :) I believe he would do well in a quiet environment away from excessive traffic noises, possible multiple dog home, one where he can be exercised. He is a very social dog. He goes to doggie daycare 3-4 days a week and has since he was little. He has been boarded several times a year for vacation and the daycare place has no problems with him.
